How do I erase existing plants from my background image?
We actually don’t “erase” the plants, we use our cloning tools to hide them. In Image Editor, you have two cloning tool options, Fixed and Floating.
Both tools can be found on the DRAW > CLONE BRUSH menu.
With the Fixed Clone tool, you select a rectangular source area and drag your brush over the destination area. The destination area will be a tiled with the originally selected source area. If a larger brush is needed, you can change the brush diameter in either the upper toolbar or by going to the TOOL > OPTIONS menu. Note that if you do change the brush size the brush diameter needs to be set prior to selecting the source area.
When using the Floating Clone tool, you click on the area to use as your source point, move to you destination point and click to start replicating the area which you selected as a source point.
As you clone areas, use the FILE > FLATTEN PROJECT selection to flatten your cloned areas to the background image. Once you flatten the project, the cloned areas are flatten to the background and can not be changed back to the original state
How do I backup my database?
PRO Landscape automatically does a backup of your database files every 7 days by default. This interval can be changed to backup anywhere from 1-14 days. To change the backup frequency do the following:- Go to TOOLS menu and select PRO Landscape Tools
- Select the DATABASE tab and change Day between Backup interval to the desired frequency and select OK.
- Keep in mind that if you backup your database files on a daily basis that you could possibly overwrite good data with bad data. Therefore, we recommend backing up every 5-7 days.
- The backup database files are saved in the C:\Program Files\Drafix\PRO Landscape\Reports folder and the filenames begin with Backup_of_PROLAND.
How do I restore database backup files?
If your database becomes corrupt, you inadvertently deleted a category or deleted other critical data, you may want to revert back to your backup database. To restore to a previously backup follow these steps:
1) Shut down all PRO Landscape programs.
2) Go to START button and select MY COMPUTER.
3) Navigate to the REPORTS folder by:
a. Select Local Disk C:
b. Select Program Files
c. Select Drafix
d. Select PRO Landscape
e. Select Reports
4) Locate the file called PROland-Object. (some systems may call it PROland-Object.mdb) Right-click on the filename and select RENAME and rename the file PROland-ObjectOLD. Repeat the renaming process with both PROland_Greenhouse and PROland-Quote files.
5) Next, in the same folder you will find the backup database files called Backup_of_PROland-Object, Backup_of_PROland-Quote, and Backup_of_PROland-Greenhouse. Right-click on each of the files and select RENAME and remove the “Backup_of_” at the beginning of the filename.
6) Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to restart PRO Landscape and your databases should be rolled back to the date which they were last backed up.
What is the recommended file size for background images?
We recommend that JPG images are sized to be roughly 1-2 megabytes in file size. Many of today’s digital cameras are 6, 8, 10 or more mega pixels and produce JPG files that are 8-20 megabytes in file size. Users may downsize these files to a much more manageable, smaller size by one of the following techniques.
1) Adjust the mega pixel setting on your camera to a 1-3 mega pixels range prior to taking photos.
2) Use an imaging program such as Microsoft Paint, PhotoShop, PhotoShop Elements, or CorelDraw to adjust pixels or document size. In Microsoft Paint, do the following to adjust the file size:
a. Go to START >> ALL PROGRAMS >> ACCESSORIES >> PAINT
b. In Paint, go to FILE menu >> OPEN >> Select JPG or BMP image
c. Go to IMAGE menu >> STRETCH/SKEW (RESIZE on some versions)
d. Change both the Horizontal and Vertical stretch percentage to a 50%.
e. Go to FILE menu >> SAVE AS >> Enter new filename >> SAVE
f. Go to VIEW menu >> Attributes >> the image file size should be considerably smaller. Ideally, the file size should be 1-2 megabytes, in pixels this is roughly 3000 x 2000. Repeat process as necessary to attain ideal size.
